Communication
With the busy schedule that every RUSH member has, it is extremely important to stay up-to-date with important team events.
QUICK RUSH COMMUNICATION:
- Email listserves - for quick email communication. We have separate student, parents and mentor list serves.
- Phone tree - Used when we know email may not be the option. Mrs. Hughes calls the captains and they start the branches of the phone tree. They call to the person below them on their "branch", who then does the same. This goes on until the message reaches the bottom of the branch. They then call back up to whichever one of the three main people tops their branch, so that they know the message got all the way down the branch. The captains then call Mrs. Hughes, to let her know that the message has been passed along successfully.
- We also have a group on Facebook, many members also text each other and the message is also passed that way.
- Alumni Facebook - there is also a group on Facebook that the alumni keep in touch and find out about the team!
WEEKLY COMMUNICATION:
- Weekly Design Reviews - each monday during the build season, each subteam presents to the team on their progress. This design review is followed by a weekly movie produced by the RUSH Media team.
- Newsletters - each week during the build season, we publish a newsletter to inform all of what we are doing. This is a primary form to communicate with our sponsors as well.
ANNUAL COMMUNICATION:
- Open House - designed for parents, sponsors and community to come and see what we have done.
- Awards Ceremony - usually in June, with invitations to sponsors, parents and family. This event is our annual "thank you" to all.
