Team RUSH collaborated with Truck Town Robotics to represent FIRST at this presentation. Here, we reviewed the 2017 game, our robot design, and our accomplishments. We also presented on our team outreach and other team information.

This meeting provided fundraising aid for students and teams interested in robotics.

Since 2007, we have participated in this fun way to advertise the team with a robot-involved giveaway. We also came up with a creative raffle where we launched beanbags that land in a golf ball to decide the winner. It was lots of fun to show the Chamber the RUSH robot in action!

For over 10 years, team RUSH has built a float and participated in Clarkston's annual 4th of July parade. Here, we are able to demonstrate our robot and interact with our community.

About the Conference: To change culture to value STEM, we must get our policy makers in our nation’s capitol on board with knowing about and supporting FIRST and STEM in education. If we are not there telling them about our experiences, no one else is! This is a conference consisting of training to prepare students and mentors for meetings with their Senators and Members of Congress in their offices on Capitol Hill.

For over 15 years, Team RUSH has hosted its RUSH Robotics camps. Students ages 8-12 years old build a Lego robot and program it to do specific tasks. RUSH students help assist in building, programming and testing these robots. Team RUSH also hosts an Advanced Camp, where students learn more in-depth programming and take their robotics skills to the next level.

In these meetings, students were taught skills in forming partnerships with local businesses and helped in their creation of their boats, all in preparation for the annual RUSH Regatta. Returning students also helped train new students to conduct cold calls. Finally, sponsors of the Regatta affiliated with members of the team who had graduated were drafted out to the rest of the team.

In this conference, students gained real-world experience lobbying to state representatives. 5 teams were represented by 31 students over 3 appointments with our elected officials.
